Light pollution is a real issue to deal with when shooting night sky. Please note that
- The mixture of lights from different light sources makes it extremely difficult for light pollution cut filters to cut off all the amount of light pollution. Therefore, despite their high effectiveness, light pollution cut filters should not be intended to be able to suppress all light pollution from sodium and mercury lighting with an accuracy of 100%.
- Light pollution cut filter reduces the amount of light entering the lens.
- When using Kenko STARRY NIGHT filter, you can get the proper white balance with AWB (Auto White Balance) mode as well, and set color temperature, or select the desired light mode (ex. fluorescent light mode, etc) according to your preference.
- The exposure factor of Kenko STARRY NIGHT filter is 1/3 stop. Therefore, when shooting a starry sky etc. with manual exposure, be aware that if you shoot with the same settings as when shooting without the filter, the image will result underexposed.
- When shooting a starry night etc. with exposure set to Program Auto (P), Aperture Priority Auto (A/Av), or Shutter Speed Priority Auto (S/Tv), the exposure is adjusted on the camera side.
